Job summary

VEKA Inc., a leading extrusion manufacturer in the vinyl window and door industry, seeks a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to keep extrusion tooling clean, inspected, and prepared for production. The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and safety within a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities include disassembly and assembly of tooling, routine maintenance, and tooling polish. The position reports to supervision and requires basic technical skills and a proactive work ethic.

Qualifications

• GED or high school required; trade school preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and safety focus are essential.
• Strong communication and accuracy in maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling per VEKA policy.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble extrusion tooling.
• Perform maintenance on tooling as directed.
• Disassemble purged-in dies and polish dies/templates/calibration.
• Communicate wear and damage to supervisor and maintain cleanliness.
• Operate reach truck as needed.
• Assist supervision and tooling maintenance personnel.
• All other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

To clean, maintain and prepare the extrusion tooling to the required standard for production.

Primary Duties

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling (Components) according to VEKA Policy/Procedures
• Disassemble extrusion tooling and insure proper assembly
• Perform Maintenance on extrusion tooling as directed
• Disassemble purged-in dies
• Polish die, templates, and calibration as needed
• Communicate wear and damage to immediate supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Operate Reach truck as needed

Secondary Duties

• Assist supervision and tooling maintenance personnel.
• All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Mechanical Aptitude, Oral Communication, and Accuracy. Safety and Quality oriented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GED, High School Education, Trade school preferred, or Previous Experience

NOTE:
