Position Summary

Without supervision, level two tool machinists create tooling of all levels of complexity either to print or from scratch, demonstrating advanced competencies in machine setup, shop math, print reading, materials properties and tool geometries. As well as advanced competencies working with complex measuring tools to perform mechanical inspection processes. Level two tooling machinists will also assist and train lower-level operators, as well as support the shop to produce one off component as needed.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent technical training.
• 6+ years of toolmaking, machining, or related manufacturing experience.
• Advanced proficiency in CNC and manual machining operations and machine setup.
• Strong understanding of material properties, tooling design, and machining methodologies.
• Advanced blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) skills.
• Experience using complex precision measuring and inspection equipment.

2nd Shift: 2:15PM - 10:45 PM

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman Toolmaker certification or completion of a recognized apprenticeship.
• Experience producing tooling from concept through completion.
• Advanced knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
