Vermeer is seeking a First Shift Tooling Design Technician to design, build, and repair tooling and fixtures for current and new production needs. You will use 3D modeling, machining, welding, and assembly processes while collaborating with fixture design, manufacturing equipment programming, welding, and product engineering teams.

The role requires a technical associate’s or equivalent, plus three years of mechanical/technician experience, welding or machining training, and knowledge of GD&T.

Formación

• High School diploma required.
• Associate’s degree from a technical school or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years of mechanical, agricultural, or technician experience and/or training.
• Completion of Vermeer weld or machining training.
• Completion of Basic Hydraulics Safety and Introduction to Hydraulics.
• Understanding of pneumatic clamping installation.
• Ability to design and build machining, manual welding, and robotic fixtures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with on-time delivery.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T symbols and application.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build tooling for current and new production needs using 3D modeling, machining, welding, and assembly processes; repair tooling damaged in production.
• Study prints to determine tooling and customer needs, plan layouts, and assemble tooling.
• Interact with fixture design, manufacturing equipment programming, welding, and product engineering staff.
• Resolve quality and manufacturing issues by interpreting drawings and diagrams; communicate with management.
• Review CMM reports and update fixtures based on data.
• TravelOccasional travel is expected for this position.
