Job summary

MPI is seeking a Tool Engineer / Project Manager to oversee injection mold tooling and end-to-end project management for new and existing customer programs. You will be the primary technical liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, guiding mold design, procurement, qualification, APQP activities, engineering changes, and program execution to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality targets.

The role requires hands-on experience with injection molding, SolidWorks, MFA, and PM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in tooling engineering, mold making, or mold design within the plastics injection molding industry.
• Strong knowledge of injection mold design, mold construction, materials, and molding processes.
• Experience using 3D CAD software for product and tooling design, with SolidWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer products and designs for manufacturability, tooling risks, cost reduction, and lead-time improvements.
• Review and approve injection mold designs to meet requirements and standards.
• Lead project review meetings and oversee all project activities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with tooling suppliers on mold design through production release.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and admin teams to support launches.
• Serve as primary contact for customers and suppliers to ensure deadlines and quality.
• Use ERP, APQP, and PM systems to communicate status and maintain schedules.
• Develop quotations, cost analyses, tooling budgets, and subcontractor estimates.
