Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Tooling Engineer for a 12-month contract, onsite. The role focuses on coordinating tool and fixture design and fabrication, developing test plans, and driving process improvements to ensure manufacturability.

The engineer will support product development with new designs and manage all phases from design to validation on site at Palmdale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Catia design experience, with emphasis on 3D modeling and detailing.
• Familiarity with industry standards for drawing requirements (ANSI, ISO, etc).
• Experience designing castings, stampings, and turned components.
• GD&T knowledge and proper application on drawings.
• Strong writing, communication, and ability to manage technical details.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pay Rate: $45-55/hr W2

Engineer Tool 2 to support our Tooling department. This position will serve on-site at Palmdale

Responsibilities

• Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external
• Coordinate/develop & execute test plans
• Develop & evaluate process improvements
• Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.
• Developing manufacturing processes, plans, and procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment in support of our process work instructions and visual aids of our shop planning process and other functions that affect product performance.
• Managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, and validate.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Catia design experience (high proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing).
• Familiarity with Industry Standards related to Detailed Drawing Requirements, ANSI, ISO, etc.
• Knowledgeable in designing of castings, stampings and turned components
• GD&T knowledge (it’s understanding and usage) in order to properly apply the rules to drawings
• Efficient in writing, communication and ability to manage technical details
