Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is seeking a Tooling Engineer to support our Rocket Center, West Virginia site. You will coordinate tool/design projects, perform tolerance analysis, and drive process improvements with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in a STEM field or a Master’s with experience in tooling fabrication and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Salary ranges from $72,100 to $108,100 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s STEM degree with 2 years of experience OR Master’s STEM degree with 0+ years in tooling fabrication/production manufacturing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
• Direct Aerospace Tooling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers.
• Perform tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function.
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and evaluate process improvements for tooling.
• Assist Product Development Team to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
• Manage all phases of a tooling project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, validate.
