Job summary

SMC Ltd. is seeking a Tooling Engineer III to support sustaining molding projects through internal tool cost estimates, mold procurement, and tracking all external tool activities.

You will manage mold procurement from quote to mold debug, maintain supplier relationships, create cost estimates, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety standards and contributing to product design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering (Plastics/Mechanical/Manufacturing).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in injection molding focused on mold making, mold design, and tool procurement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong proposal writing and presentation abilities.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage mold procurement process from quoting through design, construction, and mold debug.
• Manage current tool suppliers, and develop appropriate new suppliers as required.
• Create internal tool cost estimates.
• Schedule and track all tool deliveries; report mold progress to Project Engineers and ensure on time delivery.
• Conduct internal mold design reviews to ensure appropriate design and compliance with mold building standards.
• Implement tooling changes to comply with customer quality specifications.
• Support the sales function by participating in customer meetings and product design reviews.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
