- Review existing tooling designs and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, cycle time, maintenance, and manufacturability.
- Perform reverse engineering of existing molds, tooling components, and parts as needed.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and identify potential manufacturing or tooling concerns before production.
- Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, mold processors, production personnel, quality personnel, and other engineers.
- Participate in mold design reviews and incorporate appropriate feedback into final designs.
- Troubleshoot tooling and mold‑related issues and assist in developing corrective solutions.
- Support mold trials, tool modifications, repairs, and continuous improvement projects.
- Work with manufacturing personnel to ensure tooling is completed according to design specifications and project requirements.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities, customers, or suppliers as necessary to support tooling projects.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
