Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join the Howmet Wheel Systems business unit in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on die and tooling maintenance, shop-floor reliability, and collaboration with process engineering to support forging operations.

The position requires a technical degree, manufacturing experience, and strong organizational and planning skills. This is an on-site role with travel to local die shops and external shops as needed.

Qualifications

• A degree in Material Science Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of administrative experience including planning, scheduling and coordination of work flow.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hit count to ensure dies are restored at proper intervals.
• Review forging quality and tooling health daily on the shop floor and leverage feedback to decisions on die/tooling maintenance.
• Support die and tooling readiness on-site in Cleveland, OH for upcoming forging jobs.
• Respond to tooling failures in Production and implement preventative actions to mitigate recurrence.
• Create and manage capital projects related to design improvements, tooling upgrades and maintenance.
