Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Tooling Engineer in Cleveland, OH to support die and tooling maintenance for the Forging operations. This role reports to the Process Engineering Manager and partners with design and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling readiness for on-time production.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Material Science Engineering or Electrical Engineering or other suitable technical education is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • 2 years of administrative experience including planning, scheduling and coordination of work flow.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hit count to ensure dies are restored at proper intervals.
  • Review forging quality and tooling health daily and inform decisions on die/tooling maintenance.
  • Support die/tooling readiness on-site in Cleveland, OH, for active and upcoming forging jobs.
  • Respond to and investigate tooling failures to troubleshoot and prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and track cost savings initiatives related to tooling.
  • Collaborate with forging/design teams to maintain documentation and drawings.
