Job summary

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Tooling Engineer for a global manufacturer in NW Ohio. You will design, develop, and optimize tooling solutions to improve production efficiency and product quality in plastic injection molding and compression molding environments.

The role involves managing tooling concepts, overseeing design and build processes, tracking program progress, and collaborating with program management on tool costs and budgets.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and optimize tooling solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
• Experience with plastic injection molding, compression molding, and other forms of soft tooling.
• Develop tooling concepts and manage the tooling design, build process, and support product development teams.
• Track tooling programs, manage tool costs and budgets with program management.
• Analyze tool specifications and apply tooling standards and best practices.
• Oversee setup and operation of machining tools.
• Conduct test runs on tooling to verify proper operation.
• Experience with compression molding, tool design, cost estimation, and tool building.
• Technical Degree and/or Journeyman Mold Maker desired.

Responsibilities / Job Overview;

• We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing tooling solutions to enhance production efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate will possess extensive tooling experience in plastic injection molding, compression molding, for other forms of soft tooling. Your expertise will support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.
• Responsible for developing tooling concepts and specifications, managing the tooling design and build process, and providing engineering and tooling support to the product development teams.
• Track the progress of tooling programs and manage the tooling design and build process.
• Assume responsibility for program tool costs and budgets working with program management.
• Analyze tool specifications and understand tooling standards and best practices.
• Oversee Set-up and operation of machining tools.
• Conduct test runs on tooling to confirm proper operation.
• Experience with compression molding, tool design, cost estimation, and tool building.
