We're Hiring: Sr. Plastics Engineer – Tooling and Process | Newark, California | 5+ Years Experience

Are you passionate about plastics engineering and ready to make a significant impact in a cutting-edge product development environment? We’re looking for a Sr. Plastics Engineer – Tooling and Process to join a high-performing team driving innovation in the automotive and advanced manufacturing space.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead polymer-related aspects from design for manufacturing (DFM) through to product launch.
• Collaborate with design engineers and suppliers to ensure tooling feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Evaluate mold flow studies and tool designs before kickoff.
• Ensure compliance with internal tooling standards.
• Support cross-functional teams and represent the materials team in supplier communications, including on-site visits.

What We’re Looking For:

• B.S. in Polymer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in DFM and injection molding tool design.
• Deep knowledge of injection tooling technologies (e.g., in-mold decoration, overmolding, foaming, etc.).
• Experience with automotive A-surface parts and flow simulation tools (e.g., Autodesk MoldFlow).
• Hands-on experience with injection molding and process optimization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with MoldFlow studies, tool trials, and approvals.
• Familiarity with tool should costing.
• Exposure to other plastic manufacturing processes (e.g., blow molding, vacuum forming, compression molding, etc.).
