Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• 3–5 years of Tool Room/Mold Shop experience required.
• 1–3 years CNC programming experience.
• 1–3 years CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate daily activities of personnel and tooling equipment with Tool Room supervision.
• Operate tool equipment safely and consistently.
• Mentor and lead personnel to follow proper processes and procedures.
• Troubleshoot mold issues on and off the press and communicate with NPD on solutions.
• Apply best machining and production practices and maintain mold history records.
• Document and maintain mold documentation and records in EAM.
• Assist in decision making for moderately challenging problems.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, quality programs and PPE requirements.
• Follow company policies and handbook guidelines.
• Escalate issues when needed and suggest CI improvements.
• Promote continuous improvement, 5S and STW activities.
• Contribute as a leader or team member as circumstances require.
• Be accountable for decisions, actions and results.

Help coordinate, schedule, and optimize both the tooling equipment and personnel to meet production schedule and reduce unplanned downtime.Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Work closely with Tool Room supervisor(s) to schedule and coordinate daily activities of both personnel and tooling equipment.2. Maintain the ability to operate tool equipment safely.3. Mentor, teach and lead personnel to follow proper processes and procedures.4. Work assignments: Evolving problem-solving abilities; troubleshoot mold issues in and out of the press, communicate to new product development on what works and what not to do.5. Utilize and teach best machining and production practices.6. Maintain all applicable documentation and accurate records for mold history through EAM.7. Decision making: Decision making of moderately challenging problems and assist other personnel in general shop duties.8. Follow corporation, department, environmental, quality and safety programs, including the use of PPE.9. Follow company policies, procedures and guidelines including the company handbook.10. Issue Resolution: Recognize when escalation is appropriate; offer mold, plant and companywide continuous improvement suggestions.11.
