Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is seeking a Design Engineer II, Tooling to design, develop, and improve tooling and fixtures for legacy fuzing products. You will create 2D and 3D drawings with GD&T, mainly using SolidWorks, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering.

This on-site role requires 2–5 years in tooling design, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage small projects and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of tooling design/manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly or production environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drawings; familiar with PDM software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks, ensuring compatibility with legacy fuzing product manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings with GD&T for precision and manufacturability.
• Develop new tooling solutions to address production challenges and support new product introductions.
• Provide estimates for tooling designs or modifications.
• Reverse engineer existing tooling where drawings are missing or hand-drawn.
