Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors is seeking a Design Engineer II, Tooling in Middletown, CT to design, develop, and maintain tooling and fixtures for legacy fuzing products. You will create 2D/3D drawings and apply GD&T for precision manufacturing, while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering to meet production goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on tooling development, continuous improvement, and on-site teamwork in a fast-paced defense-focused environment in Middletown, CT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years tooling design or related manufacturing engineering experience.
• SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drawings; GD&T proficiency.
• Experience with product data management (PDM) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations in aerospace/defense preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop tooling and fixtures using SolidWorks with compatibility to legacy fuzing product manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings with GD&T for precision and manufacturability.
• Develop new tooling solutions to address production challenges and support new product introductions.
• Provide estimates for new tooling designs or modifications; reverse engineer existing tooling as needed.
• Maintain tooling maintenance database; troubleshoot and improve tooling performance.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineering to meet requirements and provide technical support.
