Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a Designer I in Fullerton, CA to design tools for fastener production, develop sketches and drawings, and collaborate with engineering, shop floor, and quality teams. The role requires GD&T proficiency and SolidWorks expertise with 3–5 years of tooling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of tooling design experience in aerospace/auto/medical or similar high-volume environments.
• Proficiency in GD&T and SolidWorks is required.

Responsibilities

• Tool design: create tools for fastener manufacturing and related equipment; develop sketches, layouts, and detailed drawings.
• Documentation: prepare drawings, change notices, specs, and inspection standards; manage Tool Change Control records.
• Design review & optimization: verify and improve tooling designs; perform calculations and layouts to optimize design.
• Collaboration: work hands-on with manufacturing floor personnel to troubleshoot tooling issues.
