Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. seeks an experienced Tool Design Engineer to design and develop tooling, fixtures, harness boards, prototypes, and robotic end-of-arm tooling for manufacturing and experimental use.

The role requires extensive 3D modeling experience (Creo/SolidWorks), CAD/CAM proficiency, and Windchill PLM expertise, with a strong grasp of manufacturing processes, materials, and engineering principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in 3D modeling with Creo or SolidWorks.
• Minimum of 6 years with CAD/CAM systems, especially Creo.
• Minimum of 6 years using PLM systems, especially Windchill.
• Minimum of 6 years designing harness boards.
• Strong grasp of mechanical engineering, processes, and materials.
• Experience developing tooling and fixtures for production or experimental use.
• Ability to independently develop design approaches and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, harness boards, prototypes, and robotic end-of-arm tooling.
• Use 3D modeling software to concept and integrate tooling with machinery and attachments.
• Develop tooling solutions for production and experimental uses.
• Apply engineering principles to optimize for accessibility, ergonomics, safety, performance, and cost.
• Create/modify 3D models, drawings, and tooling designs using CAD/CAM systems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and production to meet requirements.
• Assess feasibility considering machining, fabrication, assembly, and materials.
• Independently analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Support tooling design for robotics and automation projects.
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards, safety rules, and best practices.
