Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Production Engineer in Fullerton, CA to design, build, and validate tooling for cold-stamping stainless‑steel parts (A286). You will run process-control studies, set optimal machine parameters, and create standard procedures with CAD tools to deliver high‑quality parts.

Responsibilities include tooling drawings, BOMs, and specs using SolidWorks/AutoCAD, plus collaboration with tool-room machinists to prototype and refine tooling while upholding quality and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing/tooling design experience in aerospace, automotive, medical, or related high‑volume environments.
• SolidWorks proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems (Syteline, Oracle, QAD) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate tooling for cold‑stamping stainless‑steel (A286) parts.
• Run process‑control studies to set optimal machine parameters and create standard procedures.
• Use AutoCAD/SolidWorks to produce tooling drawings, BOMs, and technical specs.
• Analyze part progressions with simulation and adjust designs.
• Work with tool‑room machinists to prototype, test, and refine tooling.
• Monitor operations, enforce quality and safety standards, and resolve in‑process issues.
• Working hours may exceed a 40‑hour week as required.
