Job summary

Precision Group in Texas seeks an experienced Tooling Design Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of plastic injection molds and tooling. The role involves collaborating with engineering, toolroom, and production personnel to create new tooling, improve existing mold designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure molds are designed for manufacturability, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in plastic injection mold/tooling design.
• Proficient with 3D solid modeling CAD software.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with DFM and mold design reviews.
• Reverse engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Use 3D CAD/CAM software to analyze and improve mold designs.
• Develop new mold designs based on customer and manufacturing needs.
• Create drawings, blueprints, models for tool manufacturing.
• Review designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Support mold trials, modifications, and process improvements.
• Travel to facilities or customers as needed.
