Job summary

International Paper seeks a Tooling Assistant to support daily operations by delivering print plates and dies to machines, maintaining accurate tooling records, and ensuring safe, efficient workflow in a factory setting.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team. Training in SQF, HACCP and GMP is appreciated; willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver print plates and cutting dies to machines without downtime.
  • Print a tooling report each shift with upcoming orders and required tooling.
  • Safely pull/handle print plates and dies from racking and deliver to machine centers.
  • Revise and drop dies to locations for pickups/repairs.
  • Receive incoming print plates/dies; assist KIWI recording.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and follow safety rules.
  • Report safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist coworkers as needed.
  • Complete a monthly die purge.
  • Support SQF, Quality, HACCP and GMP compliance.
  • Overtime may be required to cover shifts.

Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Tooling Assistant plays a key role in the daily operations; it is essential that print plates and cutting dies are delivered to each machine without any machine downtime.
  • Print a tooling report each shift to view the upcoming orders and the print plates and cutting dies needed for those orders.
  • Safely pull and handle print plates and cutting dies from the racking system and deliver to the appropriate machine centers.
  • Revise and drop dies to the appropriate location for die pickups and repairs.
  • Receive incoming print plates and cutting dies. Assist the Tooling Coordinator in recording into the KIWI system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Use required safety protective devices and equipment to prevent accidental injury.
  • Report to your supervisor any safety hazards in your work area.
  • Follow company policy, rules and regulations on safety and workplace.
  • Assist the other co‑workers whenever the need arises.
  • Complete a monthly die purge.
  • Ensure and support that SQF, Quality, HACCP and GMP are always followed.
  • Overtime may be required to cover shifts and manufacturing needs.

Work Environment
  • Primarily works in a factory and/or warehouse setting
  • Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Standing, stooping (kneeling), walking, and lifting on a daily basis
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. An individual frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. An individual must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
