Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Rutherfordton, NC seeks a 2nd/3rd shift Tool Room Technician to maintain tooling, perform repairs, and support production readiness. You’ll read part prints, program basic 2-axis CNCs, and ensure GD&T compliance. Strong math skills, forklift/LOTO certification, and safety mindset are essential.

Responsibilities include cleaning, inspecting, and repairing dies and molds, organizing tooling, and documenting maintenance activities to uphold quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in a Tool Room, preferably within a die casting or similar manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy.
• Forklift, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hoist, and crane certifications required.
• Strong mathematical skills applicable to machining and tool-making operations.
• Ability to read and interpret part prints, tooling drawings, and dimensional specifications.
• Proficiency in crane operation and basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular onsite attendance as an essential function of the position.
• Support and participate in safety programs and activities.
• Follow daily preparation schedules and complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Prepare tooling for production setup and inspect tooling for wear or damage.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify tooling as needed to meet specifications.
• Program and operate 2-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Fabricate and install standard cores/punches as required.
• Produce and file maintenance documentation in a timely manner.
