Qualifications

Knowledge of die setting, troubleshooting, and repair methods.
Strong attention to detail and comfort working to tight tolerances.
Several years of hands‑on toolmaking or die maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Track tool room labor hours, materials, and outside vendor work.
Train toolmakers and apprentices on safe work practices and shop procedures.
Maintain tooling records, drawings, and spare parts inventory.
Assign daily work to tool room staff and set priorities based on production needs.
Oversee repair and maintenance of dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures.
Inspect finished tooling for dimensional accuracy and proper fit.
Troubleshoot tooling problems on the production floor and direct corrective work.
Schedule preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
