A leading manufacturing company seeks a Tool & Die Maintenance Technician to ensure production operations meet schedule dates. The role involves die preparation, maintenance, and repair tasks while adhering to company quality and safety policies. Summary: Supports production operations to meet production schedule dates through effective die preparation and maintenance activities. Provides timely, effective completion of prototype and special project tooling jobs.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
1. Reviews production schedule and database to prioritize and schedule daily work. 2. Coordinates transport of dies with material handler.
3. Performs maintenance or repair with details from the database.
4. Trouble shoots dies in the tool room or in the press with the other members of
tool room.
5. Accurately maintains tool and die repair sheets and pull sheets for database
entry. Plans for follow-up and provides sketches to Engineering.
6. Maintains inventory of perishable tooling, details, etc.
7. Communicates with production scheduler to insure productivity.
8. Maintain neat, organized work area. Work with co-workers to maintain
housekeeping and safety practices of entire shop consistently.
9. Construct and repair new and existing dies, fixtures, gauges, etc.
11. Set-up and operate all department equipment (include turning, grinding, milling,
drilling and cutoff machines, cutting tools, etc.)
12. May act as lead on given tooling projects interacting with Engineering,
Manufacturing, and coordinating Tool Room activities in the construction and repair of new and existing dies.
13. Determine which equipment/dies have PM's.
14. Ensure quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned work
15. Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including
environmental and quality standards.
16. Provides diagnosis of die repair requirements, damage, and solutions to
dimensional problems with stamping dies.
17. Schedules pm on dies based on the number of hits the tool makes.
18. Responsible for identifying, indexing, accessing, filing, storage, and disposal of
records within the department.
19. Commit to the CI of our quality and environmental systems.
20. Familiar with the handling, storage, and disposal of universal waste.
21. Adhering to the safe launch process.
22. Complete a sign in sheet for Training.

Qualifications:

3. Works under the supervision of the Assistant Plant Manager.
4. Is skillful in the operation of typically used related tools, materials, and equipment.
Education and/or Experience:
Journeyman in tool and die or equivalent, prior work experience preferably in a stamping environment.
Climate: Heat, humid

LanguageSkills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
ReasoningAbility:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must demonstrate strong organization, communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 and the automotive industry is desirable.

3. The employee is occasionally required to: climb, push, or pull items.
4. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to: use both hands, talk, hear and see.
5. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
