Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Tool Room Maintenance Associate to operate and maintain the mobile maintenance tool room, perform inspections, tests and repairs on tooling used to support mining operations.

You will set up and maintain the tool room, manage tooling inventory, coordinate with supply chain, and ensure safe, compliant operations while meeting performance targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; reading/writing instructions and basic math.
• Working knowledge of MEM maintenance tooling.
• PC skills with JDE, Excel, Office and Word.
• Able to perform basic tool rebuilds.
• Able to work with tool vendors.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read repair manuals and schematics.

Job description

Operate and maintain the Mobile Maintenance tool room. Perform routine inspections, testing, and repairs of tooling utilized to support mobile maintenance functions.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain tool room and keep area organized.
• Managing computer subscriptions for equipment diagnosis and repairs.
• Control MEM tooling inventory to include employee tooling purchase and replacement program.
• Shipping and receiving of tooling to include a close working relation with the supply chain department.
• Managing daily requisition tracker.
• Manage coverall inventory by working closely with vendors.
• Keep an accurate, orderly, and accessible tool inventory.
• Ensure tool room is supplied with safe working tools by coordinating with supervisors as needed.
• Ability to assist in the of building hydraulic hoses to include hose room inventory and needs.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
• Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
• Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Shall have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
• Working knowledge of MEM maintenance tooling.
• Strong working knowledge and skill with a PC utilizing on site database systems to include JDE, Microsoft Excel, Office, and Word document.
• Must be able to perform basic tool rebuilds.
• Must be able to work closely with tool vendors.
• Ability to identify and remove from service any defective tooling.
• Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Must have solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand repair manuals and schematics.
• Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.

This position reports to the MEM Supervisor.
