Job summary

Stabil Drill, a Superior Energy Services company, is hiring a Full-Time Tool Repair Technician in Houston, TX. The role involves dismantling, repairing and reassembling drilling tools, maintaining cleanliness and safety on site, and assisting the supervisor in all aspects of the job.

You will assemble and set up new equipment and ensure adherence to company and customer QHSE requirements, with additional duties as needed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Current knowledge of equipment, materials, and practices used in the oil/gas industry.
  • Follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Handle problems with a few concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Maintain reports/records accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble drilling tools.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper disposal of debris on property.
  • Assist the Supervisor in all aspects of the job.
  • Assemble and set up new equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company/customer QHSE requirements.

Stabil Drill is currently seeking a Full-Time Tool Repair Technician to join our team in Houston, TX..

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble drilling tools.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and proper disposal of debris on property.
  • Assist the Supervisor in all aspects of the job.
  • Assemble and set up new equipment.
  • Ensure awareness of, and compliance with, relevant company/customer QHSE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.
Knowledge/Skills/abilities
  • Current knowledge of equipment, materials, and practices used in the oil/gas industry.
  • Complete tasks and follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • Accurately complete/maintain necessary reports/records in a timely and legible manner, in accordance with applicable procedures and/or work order.
