Job summary

Mueller Water Products in Albertville, AL seeks a Tool Room/Pattern Maker to operate grinders, lathes, milling machines, and CNC mills. You will fabricate, assemble and repair metal parts, fixtures and patterns per engineering prints, calibrate gauges, and maintain a clean work area.

Strong attention to detail and precision to .0001 tolerance is essential. Experience with pattern making and machinist tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate Tool Room machines such as grinders, lathes, and mills.
• Fabricate and repair metal or wood parts, fixtures and patterns from prints.
• Calibrate gauges and maintain inspection instruments to tight tolerances.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area and perform duties as directed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all Tool Room machines including CNC mills and welding.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to fabricate parts.
• Construct or repair patterns, jigs and core boxes from prints or templates.
• Calibrate or assemble gauges and adhere to tight tolerance of .0001.
• Maintain equipment and workspace; assist with other duties as needed.
• Work with minimal supervision after training.
• Adhere to quality and safety standards in all tasks.
• Support production and maintenance teams as required.

Tool/Pattern Maker/Die SinkerJob DescriptionPRIMARY FUNCTION:Work consists of operating all Tool Room machines and equipment proficiently, including layout and assembly in accordance with engineering specifications to construct, repair, maintain and calibrate shop tools, jigs, fixtures instruments, patterns, core boxes, machine and equipment parts, furniture and shipping containers.SPECIFIC DUTIES:1. Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, including CNC mills, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding, burn out and edm. 2. Use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully. 3. Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal or wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates. 4. Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments. 5. Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .0001. 6. Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition. 7. Perform other job related duties as directed by supervisor. 8.
