Kleiss High Precision in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, seeks a Tool Maker to build, repair, and maintain injection tools to meet tight tolerances and ISO 9001 standards. You will work with CAM/CNC and EDM equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support tool readiness and uptime in a precision manufacturing environment.

The role requires a technical degree in Tool Making, hands-on tooling experience, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, revise, and repair injection tools to required tolerances and standards.
• Change tool configurations per production schedule requirements.
• Set up, operate, and maintain tool shop equipment.

• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend corrective actions.

Required Competencies

• Technical Expertise: Hands‑on experience with tool building and repair, including injection molding tools.
• Precision & Quality: Ability to meet tight tolerances and quality specifications.
• Problem Solving: Root cause analysis and resolution of tooling issues.
• Equipment Proficiency: Experience with CNC and EDM machines (preferred).
• Workplace Discipline: Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical degree in Tool Making or equivalent education and experience (Essential)
• CAM and/or CNC experience (Desired)
• Experience operating EDM equipment (Preferred)

Training Requirements

• Completion of Tool Maker onboarding and equipment‑specific training.
• ISO 9001 awareness and internal quality procedures.
• Safety and machine operation certifications.
• Competency assessments aligned with the Victrex Competency Framework.

Performance Metrics

• Tool readiness and uptime.
• Quality of tooling and fixture output.
• Responsiveness to tooling issues and changeovers.
• Compliance with maintenance schedules and audits.

Compliance & Safety Responsibilities

• Adhere to ISO 9001 and internal QMS documentation and procedures.
• Ensure tooling activities meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Escalate quality or safety concerns promptly.
• Support internal audits and corrective actions.

This position requires the use of safety shoes and safety glasses during the performance of most tasks, in compliance with site safety policies.
