Job summary

Career Connection Network seeks a skilled Tool Maker for a temporary-to-hire opening with our Jamestown-area manufacturing partner. The position offers an hourly rate of $20-$27, with 1st or 2nd shift, and involves build and final assembly of progressive dies and fixtures.

The successful candidate will operate CNC machines, troubleshoot tooling issues, and work to tight tolerances. Three+ years in machining, mechanical aptitude, and strong measuring skills are required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years in a Machining environment or similar.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Use of measuring devices like micrometers and verniers.
• Good time management skills and attention to detail.
• High School Math and English equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build and final assemble progressive dies and fixtures.
• Operate tool room equipment including CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot most tooling issues or problems.
• Work in close tolerances +/- .0002.
• May supervise subordinate machinists.
• Identify opportunities to improve products or reduce costs.

Job description

A local manufacturer is seeking a skilled Tool Maker for their current temporary to hire opening. This position offers an hourly rate of $20 - $27/hr. with a 1st or 2nd shift schedule. The Tool Maker is responsible for all aspects of build and final assembly of progressive dies and fixtures. The successful candidate must be able to:

• Work in all aspects of tool and die manufacturing with little to no supervision.
• Operate all tool room equipment including CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot most tooling issues or problems.
• Work in close tolerances +/-.0002.
• May be required to supervise subordinate level machinist.
• Identify opportunities to improve products or reduce costs.

Qualifications:

• High School Math and English equivalent;
• Three (3) or more years in a Machining or similar environment;
• Mechanical aptitude;
• Be able to use of measuring devises like micrometers and verniers;
• Dedicated to the work with good attention to detail;
• Good time management skills.
