Job summary

Talent Masters Staffing in Mendota Heights, MN, is seeking a skilled Tool Maker for a full-time role. You will read and interpret engineering drawings, designs, and GD&T, build and debug progressive dies and tooling, operate manual machines, and perform die tryouts and maintenance.

Must have a high school diploma (technical tool & die certification preferred) and 5+ years of experience. CAD experience, precision inspection, and ability to mentor junior staff are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tool & die making with strong manufacturing background.
• Familiarity with CAD software for die design or modification.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, die designs, and GD&T.
• Build, assemble, and debug progressive dies and advanced tooling.
• Operate manual machines (mill, grinder, lathe, drill press) safely and accurately.
• Perform die trials, repairs, sharpening, and maintenance.
• Inspect tooling and parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Recommend tooling improvements and document changes.
• Mentor Tool & Die Maker I & II employees.
• Follow all safety and compliance requirements.

What you will do

• Tool Maker
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, die designs, and GDamp;T
• Build, assemble, and debug progressive dies and advanced tooling
• Operate manual machines (mill, grinder, lathe, drill press) safely and accurately
• Perform die tryouts, repairs, sharpening, and maintenance
• Inspect tooling and parts using precision measuring instruments
• Recommend tooling improvements and document changes
• Mentor Tool amp; Die Maker I amp; II employees
• Follow all safety and compliance requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in tool amp; die making preferred
• 5+ years of experience in tool amp; die making with strong manufacturing background
• Familiarity with CAD software for die design or modification
• Experience with manual machining, advanced die assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move frequently during shifts
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs)
• Strong vision, dexterity, and focus for detailed precision work
• Physical and mental stamina to perform repetitive tasks safely and effectively
