Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jogs, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and CAD files for tooling components.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and minimize production downtime.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment.
  • Perform precision measurements with instruments like micrometers and calipers.
  • Work closely with engineering to improve tooling performance.
  • Modify tooling to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling.
  • Ensure tooling meets required tolerances and standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Document repairs and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jogs, fixtures, and tooling used in steel manufacturing operations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD files to fabricate tooling components.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes.
  • Modify existing tooling to improve efficiency, product quality, or safety.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on dies and tooling to extend life and maintain reliability.
  • Ensure tooling meets required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety procedures and policies.
  • Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
