ARaymond Network is seeking a Tool Maintenance Technician to sustain high-quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and visual evaluation. The role requires hands-on experience in plastic injection mold repair and mold maintenance, with strong reading of tooling work orders and a focus on safety and efficiency.

The candidate should have 5+ years in a tool room, knowledge of mold components, and proficiency with precision measuring equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance.
• 3+ years of experience using hand operated tool room equipment.
• Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their characteristics.
• Ability to read and understand tooling work orders.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Prototype tool making experience would be helpful.
• Plastic injection processing experience is highly desired.
• Trade school or some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tooling via preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and visual evaluation.
• Disassemble and assemble molds safely and timely.
• Read tooling work orders and follow instructions.
• Clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians.
• Work to schedule and meet deadlines; keep area clean and organized.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore micrometers).
• Maintain tool room records and assist on company computer system.
• Operate surface grinder within ±0.0002 and Bridgeport/Lathe within ±0.001.
• Operate EDM machine and troubleshoot issues with tools.
• Knowledge of mold master and related systems.

Tool Maintenance Technician Position Summary

To maintain high quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Must be a team player and educate and share ideals when needed.
• Read and understand tooling work orders and follow instructions.
• Responsible for the correct disassembly and assembly molds in a safe and timely manner.
• Able to clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians when needed.
• Work to a schedule and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
• Utilize measuring equipment that include micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore micrometers, etc.
• Assist in the monitoring process to help keep a reasonable component inventory in stock.
• Reduce machine downtime.
• Maintain all tools and equipment that are used including the daily cleaning of tool room machinery.
• Assist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer system.
• Work with little or no supervision when given clear direction.
• Work with Process Engineers to trouble shoot issues with tool or improve on.
• Be able to work on the production floor with tool in press to correct any issue to keep down time at a minimum.
• Able to operate a Surface grinder with in a + or - .0002 on critical details.
• Able to operate a Bridgeport/Lathe with in a + or - .001 tolerance.
• Able to run a EDM machine
• Knowledge of Manifold systems Example: Mold Master, Senventive, Osco and etc.
• Able to polish and bench details.
• Ability to fit new detail and spot in.
• Ability to trouble shoot issues and repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5 plus years of hands on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance.

• Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
• Ability to read and understand tooling work orders
