Job summary

Intel’s Foundry Construction and Sourcing team seeks an experienced Tool Install Leader to drive equipment readiness, installation, and qualification across complex site projects in Chandler and beyond. You will mentor engineers and technicians, manage onsite resources, and coordinate with central teams to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will apply deep technical expertise, lead lean initiatives, and influence decisions in a fast-paced, matrix environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related technical field with 4+ years of experience in Project Management, as Equipment/Engineering Tool Owner, or equivalent installation/qualification/demo/maintenance technician experience.
  • Or 8+ years of experience in Project Management, as Equipment/Engineering Tool Owner, or equivalent installation/qualification/demo/maintenance technician experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with medium or large-scale construction or tool install programs.
  • Knowledge of Intel systems: EMS, SIRFIS, Fuzion, QUEST, IMCS, Capacity Planning, SLS, 6D
  • Demo experience (6D trained and certified)
  • Experience with: Station controller setup / automation. Panel shutdowns, FPOCs, eFITs. Tool crating/de crating, AIO. Tool install/qual specifications and maintenance. Managing daily third party supplier operation.
  • Project management skills (planning, scheduling, risk mitigation)
  • Adaptability in fast paced, changing environments
  • Strong organizational discipline and time management

Responsibilities

  • Support equipment readiness and commissioning for Tool Demo, Conversion and Installation up to Supplier Qualification; from Pre-Design through construction install to SL2SO.
  • Mentor, develop, direct and influence a team of Engineers and Technicians directly and in a matrix environment, providing guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues.
  • Manage onsite CW construction resources and equipment vendors including funding, forecasting, providing performance feedback and logistics support in concert with rest of site operations.
  • Apply technical expertise within their functional area, providing actionable direction to technicians and engineers for technical problems such as demolition, conversion, and installation troubleshooting.
  • Facilitate organizational communication from engineering module ideation to actionable scope execution to achieve direct effect on the wafer and process development.
  • Ensure the site execution teams have prompt forecasting, procurement, delivery, set and commissioning of equipment to meet program needs. Integrate planning and coordination across construction trades, equipment vendors and third parties.
  • Interact with Central Tool Install and Virtual Factory counterparts routinely to enable cross-site learning and developing best known methods for tool installs scope and facility preparation and commissioning activities.
  • Facilitate taskforces, after action reviews, Lean initiatives in pursuit of continuous improvement in FCS processes. Uses judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
  • Foster innovation and transform traditional construction practices by driving new methods and engineering solutions through leveraging industry insights.
  • Partner with assigned engineering modules to ensure alignment and execution meets Intel priorities, providing clear feedback to both.
  • Flexibility to work across the various areas within Tool Install, taking on additional horizontal scope as required to meet needs of the project/program.
  • Build and drive safety culture of caring in every business environment, office to the construction sites, and from front-end planning to construction and tool commissioning execution.
  • Role model safety and quality for new tool installations across construction, suppliers, and install qualification personnel. Leverage Job Hazard Analysis and associated business processes for proactive safety/quality risk identification and prevention plans, and 6D learnings for unforeseen incident reviews.
