Job summary

Intel in Oregon is seeking a hands-on Tool Equipment Install Technician to support the construction and commissioning of wafer fabrication facilities. This fixed-term role requires strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure safe, on-time installation of complex equipment.

The position lasts about 12 months, with potential extension. You will read blueprints, select and use the right tools, and contribute to Lean safety practices across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher may qualify with multiple experience options (2.5+ years equipment maintenance or 3+ years technical experience).
• 4+ years of related hands-on experience or military technical experience; or 6+ years of related hands-on experience including military experience.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in STEM fields related to semiconductor manufacturing with related maintenance experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure structures and systems meet specs.
• Perform measurements and calculations to minimize errors and maintain quality standards.
• Safely operate a wide range of tools, machinery, and equipment per safety protocols.
• Identify materials based on properties to ensure durability and compliance.
• Identify and resolve on-site challenges to keep projects on schedule and scope.
• Manage multiple workstreams across installation phases and coordinate with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure all structures and systems are built to specification and design intent.
• Mathematical Proficiency: Perform accurate measurements and calculations to minimize errors, reduce rework, and maintain project quality standards.
• Tool Handling: Safely and efficiently operate a wide range of tools, machinery, and equipment in compliance with site safety protocols.
• Material Knowledge: Identify and select appropriate materials based on their properties to ensure durability, compliance, and suitability for specific tasks.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve unexpected on‑site challenges quickly and effectively to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, including planning, execution, and progress monitoring across installation phases.
• Supplier Management: Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project requirements and quality standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED (or higher, non‑semiconductor degree) may qualify with one of the following: 2.5+ years of related equipment maintenance experience or 3+ years of technical experience; 4+ years of related hands‑on experience or military technical experience; 4+ years of Field Service Engineer (FSE)-level semiconductor equipment maintenance experience; or 6+ years of related hands‑on experience, including military technical experience.
An associate degree in a STEM field related to Semiconductor Manufacturing (MET) or STEM (Operator track) with 2+ years of related equipment maintenance experience, or 6+ years of equipment maintenance experience.
Or a bachelor's degree in a STEM field related to Semiconductor Manufacturing (MET) or STEM (Operator track) with no prior experience required, or with 2+ years of equipment maintenance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineer
