Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer of display cases and refrigeration systems, seeking a Tool & Die Technician to inspect, design, and set up dies and tooling. You will work from engineering drawings and blueprints to fabricate parts and prototypes on CNC and conventional equipment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tool & die, experience with progressive dies, and proficiency in MasterCam, AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Qualifications

One year certificate from college or technical school (Machinist certificate) or equivalent.
HS Diploma/GED required.
Requires 5+ years of experience in Tool & Die machine shop, knowledge of progressive dies is a must.

Responsibilities

Inspect Dies: Check for wear, cracks, or damage after production runs.
Design die from engineering drawings, sketches or verbal direction.
Set up and operate conventional or CNC equipment to cut, bore, grind, or shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
Operate all tool room equipment to make and repair dies.
Assist with prototypes from engineering department.
Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations.
Assist the maintenance department when needed.
Weld, measure, heat treat, etc.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
