Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Team Leader to plan, organize and coordinate the daily activities of the Tool & Die Technicians in Normal, IL. The role reports to the Manager of Tool & Die Operations and requires extensive experience in high-volume tooling environments.

The position emphasizes lead responsibilities, scheduling, training, and ensuring safety and 5S standards. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement and support production launches and ramp-ups.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Tool & Die operations.
• Experience with Class A panels or similar high-precision tooling.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Technician assignment plan based on available manning and skillsets.
• Ensure team follows standardized work through observations and coaching.
• Maintain 5S and Safety standards through line walks.
• Engage with Technicians to address concerns or issues to promote continuous improvement.
• Ensure team has proper tools and material to perform their jobs.
• Follow and enforce standard business practices (e.g., Non-Conforming Material).
• Escalate line conditions to group leader or support staff.
• Maintain quality standards through checks and audits.
• Complete leader standard work.
• Fill in as backfill Technicians for the area as needed.
• Actively supports management in planning and execution of launches, ramp ups and production.
• Lead continuous improvement activities as needed.
