Job summary

Autokiniton in Meridian, MS is seeking a Tool & Die operator to support press and die operations. You will assist in tool and die activities, ensure proper setup, and help drive quality and productivity improvements across the press area.

The role requires 3–5 years’ experience with tool & die, understanding of the press department, basic computer skills, and a forklift license. Candidates must be able to work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed and lift up to 40 lbs.

Job description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the enterprise’s mission, vision, and values in performance of daily activities.
• Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality registration (ex. TS 16949, ISO 14001, TQM, etc.)
• Support press operators on HTH and SPM improvement
• Perform audits as necessary to ensure press colleagues are following proper procedure (F/O, L/O, Die setup, Die storage, Last off Q.C checks, etc.)
• Communicate any issues or concerns immediately across functions
• Assist, as required, plant activities to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals
• Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.)
• Responsible for adhering to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
• Maintain high level of housekeeping in the work area.
• Responsible for ensuring all policies are followed and paperwork completed properly, train other colleagues to do the same
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, etc.)
• Responsibility for understanding all Tool & Die functions
• Assist in overall operations of Tool & Die and press area.
• Ensure proper communication between shifts for a seamless work activity flow by priority.
• Other duties as assigned

Reports directly to the Tool and Die Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with Operations, Materials, Maintenance, Accounting, and Quality Assurance. Interfaces on an as needed basis with HR and IT.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 Years’ Experience in Tool & Die

Understanding of the Press Department & Tool & Die

Basic Skills with Computer

Fork Truck license

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Ability to work 40 hours a week plus required mandatory overtime ****
