Job summary

Magna International, within the Cosma division in Birmingham, AL, seeks a skilled Press Tool & Die Team Lead to guide safety-focused tooling operations and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams. You will champion the Employee’s Charter and ensure equipment readiness to meet press schedules.

The role emphasizes Lean practices, daily safety talks, audits, and coaching to drive quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent with Tool & Die emphasis preferred.
• 2-year technical college degree focused on Tool & Die or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Press Tool & Die employees safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with departments and ensure compliance with safety programs.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections and safety talks; document and report hazards.
• Provide timely coaching, feedback and performance evaluations.
• Supervise activities to meet quality and productivity standards.
• Promote Lean activities (5S, Kanban, PDCA) and continuous improvement.
• Assist toolmakers with tool repair decisions and tooling improvements.
