Job summary

Suncast Corporation in Batavia, IL is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to repair and maintain production dies and tooling. You will read blueprints, machine and assemble parts, and prepare dies for production, ensuring repairs are completed safely and on time.

Responsibilities include reviewing instructions to modify dies, testing systems, and selecting machine setups to meet tolerances and production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and interpret dimensions
• Strong mathematical ability for tolerances and material needs
• Experience with stamping dies preferred
• Ability to operate lathes, milling machines and EDM equipment

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production tooling, applying tool and die knowledge
• Prepare new dies for production and review blueprints for repairs
• Modify or repair dies in the press when possible
• Select machines and setups; disassemble and reassemble dies as required
• Inspect dies for wear, test electrical and hydraulic systems
• Ensure modifications meet dimensional and functional requirements
• Meet production deadlines and document procedures
• Lift dies and transport parts safely; may drive a forklift
• Assist training of less experienced Tool Room staff
