Job summary

Staffmark Group in Springfield, OH is seeking a Tool & Die Repair Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain dies and tooling to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role requires stamping die experience, blueprint literacy, precise measurement skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. This full-time position offers growth within a stable manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous Tool & Die experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of stamping dies, including blanking, forming, and drawing dies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting dies both in the press and in the toolroom.
  • Ability to operate precision machining equipment and hand tools.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to provide your own measuring and hand tools.
  • TIG (toolroom) welding experience preferred but not required.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production dies and tooling.
  • Operate precision machinery and hand tools to manufacture and repair tooling components.
  • Install, repair, and adjust die sensors and safety devices.
  • Lay out, fit, and assemble cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Read blueprints and determine machining layouts and repair processes.
  • Troubleshoot stamping dies, including die timing, pad travel, stripper, and binder pad adjustments.

What You Will Do

As a Tool & Die Repair Technician you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, replace worn components, document completed work, and work closely with production and operations teams to minimize downtime while maintaining quality and safety standards.

A Tool & Die Repair Technician helps maximize equipment reliability through routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair. This role requires mechanical ability, technical knowledge, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient operations across a variety of industrial environments.

The Tool & Die Repair Technician works with production equipment, facility systems, and mechanical components while applying sound troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve equipment issues. Strong analytical thinking and practical repair skills contribute to improved productivity and reduced downtime.
