Job summary

Twin City Die Castings Company is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Repair Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex tooling in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on tooling experience, a 2-year tool & die related degree, and strong machining skills. You will work with engineering and maintenance to minimize downtime and improve tool life.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in tool and die repair, toolmaking, mold repair, die cast tooling, or precision machining.
• Strong understanding of machining processes including milling, turning, grinding, fitting, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment and machinist hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and identify root causes of failures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify die cast tooling and fixtures.
• Study blueprints, drawings, CAD prints to determine repair methods.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC tools including lathes and mills.
• Manufacture and fit tooling components like cores, slides, ejector pins.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances with micrometers, calipers, gauges.
• Inspect tooling for wear and performance; suggest improvements.
• Perform fitting, grinding, polishing, shimming, finishing to spec.
• Run tests and adjust tooling for production.
• Support maintenance: die prep, cleaning, gate changes, water-line repair.
• Collaborate with Eng, Production, Maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and material handling.
