Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. in Battle Creek, MI, seeks an experienced toolmaker to troubleshoot, maintain and repair single hit, transfer and progressive dies. You will read blueprints, verify tolerances and conduct test runs to ensure parts meet specifications.

Work with apprentices to transfer skills and keep production boards updated; must provide your own trade tools and pass pre-employment screenings. You will measure with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, adjusting processes to quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with progressive and line dies.
• Journeyman Card preferred.
• Must supply tools of the trade.
• Must pass pre-employment screening (background, drug, and physical).

Responsibilities

• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
• Keep production boards and assignment boards up to date.
• Work directly with apprentices to ensure they are meeting requirements.

• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators


• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary


• Keep production boards and assignment boards up to date


• work directly with apprentices to ensure they are meeting requirements

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent


• Previous experience with progressive and line dies


• Prefer candidate with a Journeyman Card


• Must supply tools usual to the trade
