Job summary

EmployBridge in Minnesota is seeking a hands-on Tooling Maintenance Technician to perform repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of progressive, compound, and form tooling for stamping operations. You will work closely with production staff to identify tooling issues and ensure readiness of tooling for punch presses.

You will diagnose root causes of wear and failures, assist in tool changeovers, maintain tooling inventories and maintenance records, and help implement preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with tool and die repair and maintenance in stamping/punch press environment.
• Strong understanding of progressive, compound, and form tooling.
• Knowledge of punch press operations and production workflows.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Job description

• Perform hands-on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compound, progressive, and form tooling
• Work directly with production staff to identify and resolve tooling-related issues
• Support punch press operations (60-ton to 400-ton range) by ensuring tooling is properly maintained and ready for use
• Diagnose root causes of tooling wear, failure, and production inefficiencies
• Assist in tool changeovers, setups, and adjustments as needed
• Communicate tooling issues and improvement opportunities back to the design and engineering team
• Maintain tooling inventory, repair records, and maintenance schedules
• Help implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend tool life
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to tooling performance and production efficiency
• Assist in training operators on proper tool handling and basic troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with tool and die repair and maintenance in a stamping or punch press environment
• Strong understanding of:
