Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Tool & Die Machining (Starlink) to lead in-house machining and tooling development. The role requires collaborating with design, upstream production, and support teams to ensure robust processes and cost efficiency.

The candidate should have a strong background in CNC machining, 3D CAD, and experience transitioning products from design to high-volume manufacturing, with a focus on injection mold and die tooling technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-house machining capability for tool and die team.
• Analyze parts for DFM to optimize manufacturability.
• Collaborate with design, production, and supply teams on tooling.
• Work between manufacturing and design engineers, machinists, technicians and quality personnel.
• Implement machining process controls for lights-out production.
• Identify, procure, install and maintain shop equipment.
• Support cost optimization for fabrication and processes.
• Publish schedules for development project segments.
