Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for Tool & Die Machining (Starlink). You will develop in-house tooling processes and contribute to the manufacture of precision molds and dies, working with design, production, and supplier teams.

The role emphasizes process optimization and cost control in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include a Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering degree and 3+ years CNC machining experience; NX proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering or similar.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience transitioning designs to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-house machining capability for tool and die team.
• Analyze parts for DFM to optimize manufacturability.
• Collaborate with design engineering and production teams.
• Maintain and calibrate shop equipment and tooling.
• Implement lights-out machining processes and controls.
• Identify and procure new machine shop equipment.
• Support cost optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage schedules and project plans for development segments.
• Research new materials and finishing options.
• Estimate prototype and production costs for tooling.
