Job summary

Job description

Job Overview
  • Set up and operate all machine tools in the tool room including but not limited to Ram’s Wire’s and CNC machining centers
A Day In The Life
  • Responsible for performing skilled tasks in accordance with standard practices of the trade while working under the supervision of a licensed toolmaker.
  • Identifying, analyzing and troubleshooting and assisting with repairs of tools and equipment.
  • Capable and qualified to operate conventional mills, grinders, and lathes.
  • Work to tolerances of +/-.0005
  • Produce tooling components and any other parts normally produced in the tool room through verbal instruction, drawings, sketches and machine programs.
  • Create, edit and interpret CAD generated programs
  • Ability to use measuring tools
  • Ability to operator overhead hoist and cranes
  • Other assignments as requested by Supervisor
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical blue prints and design models to gain a comprehensive understanding of the required parts.
  • Previous manufacturing experience setting up machines and familiar with CNC machining centers
  • Previous experience using machine tools to manufacture tools, dies, and machine parts
  • Capable of measuring finished parts to ensure they meet specifications using precise measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers and gauges
  • Assemble, disassemble and test products to ensure functionality and quality
  • Repair damaged or worn out tools and dies
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Coordinate with engineers and other production staff to understand specific requirements and to troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with safety regulations

Education
