Job summary

Enjet Aero in Huber Heights, OH is seeking a Tool and Die Maker for weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM) to build, repair, and calibrate dies, jigs, fixtures and gages. You will use NX CAD and operate shop tools to ensure conformance to customer specs.

The role requires proficiency with mills, lathes, grinders, and CMMs, a high school diploma, and US Person eligibility for ITAR data. Training on first shift is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient operating all toolroom machines i.e., mills, lathes, grinders, saws, etc.
• Good technical math skills (shop math, geometry, trig).

Responsibilities

• Create tool designs utilizing NX (Unigraphics) CAD system and understand tool design standards.
• Operate overhead crane when necessary.
• Verify conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications using precision measuring tools and equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
• Maintain specifications and perform troubleshooting, adjustments, and tool replacements.
• Keep a safe and clean work environment and perform daily housekeeping.
• Maintain equipment per manufacturer instructions and document maintenance.
• Document actions and communications to ensure shift continuity and proper labor tracking.
• Attend training and reading to update job knowledge.
• Demonstrate time management and ability to multitask.
• Take ownership for new requests and add value where possible.
• Maintain good attendance and positive attitude.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Tool and Die Maker specializes in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine shop dies, jigs, fixtures, and gages. Operates various machine tools and performs other highly skilled work, such as laying out, fitting, and assembling parts. May involve considerable development work, highly skilled fitting, and adjusting. Occasionally construct tools where no design is available on an as-needed basis.

The position is for WEEKEND shift - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM; working 36 hours and receiving a 4 hour bonus, totaling 40 hours, also includes a 25% shift differential. Must be available to train on 1 st shift.

• Create tool designs utilizing NX (Unigraphics) CAD system. This requires being familiar with tool design and drafting standards of various customers and military.
• Operate overhead crane when necessary
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Maintains specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties
• Maintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Report proper labor hours in the ERP system
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Exceptional time management and or organization skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.

Physical Conditions:

• Lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds
• Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift
• Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials

Qualifications / Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be proficient at operating all toolroom machines, i.e., mills, lathes, grinders, saws, etc.
• Good technical math skills (shop math, geometry, and trigonometry)
• Troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
• Must be a "US Person" as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
• Possible travel as required for training and multi-site support
