Job summary

IDEAL Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker for first shift in Sycamore, IL.

The role maintains, assembles, troubleshoots and repairs progressive stamping tools in a toolroom environment, collaborating with fellow IDEAL Tool and Die Makers. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification; strong math, blueprint reading, and experience with mills, lathes and grinders are required.

Qualifications

• In-depth math and interpreting technical drawings.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
• Familiarity with high-speed complex dies.
• Creative problem-solving and adaptability.
• Follow verbal and written directions for complex tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, assemble, troubleshoot and repair progressive stamping tools.
• Inspect dies using blueprints and specs; analyze layouts and die designs.
• Set up tools and transfer to presses; perform routine maintenance and sharpening.
• Train apprentices and maintain 6S lean practices.
• Ensure a clean, safe work environment and adhere to company policies.
