Job summary

IDEAL Industries, Inc. is seeking a Tool and Die Maker for first shift in Sycamore, IL.

The role maintains, assembles, troubleshoots and repairs progressive stamping dies, performs toolroom setups, and supports lean improvements in a collaborative environment. A High School diploma or GED and Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification are required, along with hands-on experience operating manual mills, lathes and surface grinders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certification required.
• Experience with progressive stamping dies preferred.
• Strong math skills and ability to read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain progressive stamping dies.
• Set up dies and transfer tools to presses.
• Inspect dies for wear and downtime issues.
• Dress and sharpen carbide and tool steel tooling.
• Operate milling, turning, and grinding equipment.
• Train apprentices and uphold 6S/lean practices.
• Follow blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
