Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled tool and die machinist to troubleshoot, set up, and repair dies and tooling for automotive components at our Holland, MI facility. You will read blueprints, layout stock, and program or operate machine tools to fabricate parts and die components.

The role requires a minimum of 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience, an apprenticeship or journeyman background, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Journeyman or completed apprenticeship (preferred).
• Minimum 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English proficiently to safely perform duties.
• Mastercam and SolidWorks experience (preferred).
• Intermediate level of machining and metalworking experience.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials and machines.
• Sets up and operates machine tools (lathes, milling, shaper, grinder) to machine parts.
• Measures, marks, and prepares metal stock for machining.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances to drawings and tolerances.
• Heat treats tools or parts as required.
• Troubleshoots tooling and recommends design modifications for quality parts.
• Adheres to safety practices and company policies.
