Since 1963, our company has been a leading supplier of power trowel replacement blades and floating pans in the concrete industry located in York, Pennsylvania.
We are seeking a Tool & Die Maker III for our first shift position.
Our schedule is Monday through Thursday, 10‑hour days starting at 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with paid lunch. We provide an excellent hourly rate and phenomenal benefits! Tool & Die Journeyman papers not required, but a willingness to obtain the Journeyman Certification is a plus!
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tool and Die Machinist is responsible for fabrication and maintenance of all tools and dies used in the production process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate machines to fabricate metal parts, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics and layout techniques.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures, regulations, and processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and material on machines such as grinders, mills, lathes, and shapers.
- Fabricate parts using standard machinist equipment including lathes, grinders and drill presses.
- Read blueprints, sketches, drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, the sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Visualize finished product and communicate potential design errors or issues.
- Dismantle defective machines/equipment and tooling. Diagnose repair needs and repair, install new or rebuilt parts. Reassemble, set up, and test machines via trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings.
- Notify supervisor of any obstacles in productivity, maintenance issues, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a Tool and Die field.
- Strong mechanical aptitudes and a working knowledge of machine shop theories.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Familiarity with all current health and safety regulations.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with ever‑changing priorities and situations.
- A self‑starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the plant.
- Ability to stand for 10 hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
